The plaque of appreciation was given on March 23 during the 112th Philippine Army Founding Anniversary celebration held at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, Metro Manila.  Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C. Teodoro, Jr. personally handed the plaque to Pakigdait director Musa Sanguila and programme manager Abel Jose A. Moya, after the parade and review, as the 21-Gun salute was being executed.  The plaque of appreciation read, “For invaluable support rendered in the advancement of the Philippine Army mission in the strengthening of peace and development in Western Mindanao,” and signed by AFP Lieutenant General Victor S. Ibrado.  AFP Generals Alexander B. Yano, Romeo D. Lustestica, Antonio Supnet and Raymundo B. Ferrer were also present during the award rites.

In 2007, Pakigdait also received a similar award from the AFP at the headquarters of the Tabak Division in Labangon, Zamboanga del Sur and was signed by General Alexander Yano.   Sanguila said the honor has given Pakigdait a new impetus to work harder in the affected towns of Lanao del Norte, while Pakigdait programme manager Moya said “the award has proven that conflict resolution, or addressing violence cannot be solved by bullets and body counts alone, but most importantly through dialogue and compassion.“
